Policies

Pricing policy

We want every price on this site to be clear and fair. Here is how we set our prices, what a strikethrough price means, and what happens if a price changes.

How we price a painting

Every painting is made by hand when you order it, so its price reflects the size, the medium, the detail in the composition and the framing you choose. Because we paint to order and sell directly to you, there is no gallery or retail markup.

Strikethrough prices

Sometimes a price is shown with a second, crossed-out price next to it. The crossed-out price is the price we recently offered that painting at, in good faith, for a reasonable period. The lower price is what you pay today. We do not invent higher “original” prices to make a discount look bigger.

When a sale has an end date, we show it. When it ends, the painting goes back to its regular price.

Sales and discount codes

Unless a promotion says otherwise, one discount code can be used per order, and codes can’t be combined with other offers or applied to gift cards, shipping or taxes. Promotions apply to orders placed during the promotion period.

Price changes after you order

The price you pay is the price shown at checkout. If we lower the price of a painting within 14 days of your order, email us and we’ll refund the difference once, as long as the painting hasn’t been returned.

Currency, taxes and shipping

Prices are shown in US dollars. Sales tax, where it applies, is calculated at checkout from your delivery address. Shipping costs, if any, are shown before you pay. Orders shipped outside the United States may owe import duties or taxes on arrival.

Pricing errors

We work hard to keep prices accurate. If a painting is listed at the wrong price because of an obvious error, we’ll contact you before we start painting and let you choose to pay the correct price or cancel for a full refund.

Questions
